On Sunday, April 26th, I mentioned that we would be holding a meeting one Sunday in June in order to vote on three potential new deacons: Joe Dobbels, Dave Fratello and Jim Neice. It might seem a bit out of order to announce the names of candidates prior to the completion of training and examinations, but I wanted to give everyone plenty of advance notice and invite you to pray for these fine men. Please continue to pray for Joe, Dave and Jim as they prepare for their upcoming examinations before the Session (elders) on June13th. (The examination process includes a lot of self-assessment, so there is certainly no reason to assume that if any or all of these men do not stand for election on the 21st that they have “failed” in some way.) Please plan to remain after the worship service on Sunday, June 21st to vote. While only communicant members may cast a ballot, everyone is welcome to attend the meeting.
