The name for young adult ministry at Crossroads is based on both the churches at Antioch (Acts 11:19-30) and Antioch of Pisidia (Acts 13:13-52). Both were communities of believers who gave themselves to the apostles teaching, relationships, and personal growth in their faith, and outreach in both their immediate communities and abroad. Antioch was one of the most influential cities in the early church. Best known as the home base for Paul’s ministry, Antioch also served as a prime example of how to humbly seek the Lord in Christian community.
PUPORSE
Antioch was born out of a desire to minister to a particular segment of society and culture, primarily young adults (single or married).
VISION
Antioch desires to leave a permanent mark upon all who join this community by providing opportunities to develop the kind of radically different, yet culturally relevant lives that were commonplace to the church at Antioch.
Antioch desires to be a community where all understand that they belong to the body of Christ and are able to develop their God given gifts and abilities as we grow in relationship with Christ and each other.
Antioch desires to identify and develop leaders for further service in the community of God.
Antioch desires each of its members to become biblically literate and strengthened in their understanding of God and the sufficiency of His word.
MISSION
Antioch desires to initially focus on building a deep and lasting faith in the young adult community of Crossroads by consistent and constant focus on prayer and the Word.
Antioch desires to proclaim the gospel of Christ to all whom God guides into our path in our daily lives.
Antioch desires to reach the un-churched and de-churched young adults in our local communities.
