Youth Group Fall Kick-Off Event – Saturday, September 11

Youth Group (grades 7–12) “Get a Clue” event. 3:00p.m – 8:30pm. Sharpen your mind for the upcoming FALL school semester – careful, these clues might just hurt your brain! We will meet at the Naylor’s (2784 Sugar Pine Ct., Woodbridge, VA 22192) and carpool to Potomac Mills Mall. This is a wonderful opportunity to invite your friends and have them join us for an awesome scavanger hunt AND they will get to hear about Christ and His love for us. A Bible lesson and pizza back at the Naylor’s will follow the game. Please bring a snack to share if your last name starts (A-M) or a dessert if your last name starts (N-Z). Fundraising Events – Saturday, September 25

We will be holding a Spaghetti Dinner Fundraising Event on Saturday, September 25 at Christus Victor Church, located at the corner of Minnieville Road and Route 234. All proceeds from this event will go to Our Mercy Ministry Fund, we hope to raise enough money to send the Allen family to Ohio for training with 4 Paws for Ability where Matt will go through training with his Assistance Dog.

Garage Sale Fundraiser

Another church-wide fundraiser will be a huge garage sale. Please be saving your donations that are in good condition for our first community garage sale on September 25^th at 8:00a.m. it will be held at Cindy and Shawn Riggle’s home at 14955 Grassy Knoll Court, Woodbridge, VA, 22193. Please deliver your items during the week before this scheduled date. Call Cindy Riggle at 703-590-9428 to arrange a drop off, and please volunteer if you can help on the day. Any items not sold will be brought to the Roller’s home for a second community garage sale on October 2nd. Please call Linda if you are able to help at this event. All proceeds will go to our Building Fund.

Crossroads – Mercy Fund

Obedient to Christ, Crossroads desires to minister to people in need. To that end, we have always set money aside for ministry to people in need, both inside and outside the congregation. This year, to emphasize the singular purpose of this ministry, we have decided to give this ministry its own fund. Donations can be made directly to the mercy fund as the Spirit leads. Simply make out the check to “Crossroads PCA” with “Mercy Fund” in the memo line, and the funds will be deposited accordingly. Quarterly, we will publish the Mercy Ministry fund amount in the church bulletin, along with the balances in the general account and the building fund. The Battle Belongs to the Lord

In March, we were informed that an anonymous donor has pledged up to $100,000 to the Crossroads Building Fund between March 26th and December 31st! He she would like to match all contributions made to the Building Fund, dollar-for-dollar, in order to raise a total of up to $200,000 by the end of this year.

Please note “Building Fund” on the memo line on your check or select the Building Fund option when donating online through eGive. When giving by check, you may designate a portion of your donation for the Building Fund; i.e., it is not necessary to write separate checks.

The elders want to remind everyone that offerings to the Building Fund should be over and above tithes to the General Fund.

Antioch Bible Study

Care Groups – Everyday Evangelism Course

Please prayerfully consider your group’s participation in a new seven-week course called Everyday Evangelism provided by Evangelism Explosion. George and Linda Roller will serve as roving facilitators to help each Care Group participant learn to share faith effectively.

First, attend a Share Your Faith Workshop where you will learn the basic evangelistic tool by using the five fingers on your hand as a prompt.

Then participate in the seven-week Care Group course that will complete your training and even provide you with opportunities to share the gospel with your friends, neighbors, relatives, and church visitors.

The Care Group hosted by the Rollers will be the first to provide Everyday Evangelism training. This seven-week course will begin on Wednesday, March 17, following the all day Share Your Faith workshop on Saturday, March 13.

Everyone in the church is invited to participate in the Share Your Faith all day workshop. Every individual who is not presently in a Care Group is welcome to join the Rollers for the seven weeks of training following the workshop. Any other Care Group that would like to join the Roller Care Group for this first seven-week course in Everyday Evangelism is welcome to do so.

Crossroads Fellowship Meal – Sunday, February 21

Congregational Meeting – Sunday, February 21

Please plan to remain in the auditorium after the worship service this Sunday, February 21^st for a congregational meeting. The elders will be presenting “The Way Ahead: 2010 and Beyond.” This update to our strategic plan will be very informative and we look forward to everyone’s input. We will also review the 2010 church budget and vote on a minor change to Pastor Sampson’s official call. Only communicant members will be asked to vote, but everyone is welcome.
