Christian Education – Winter 2019

Sundays from 11:15 – 12:15

January 6 through March 24

Nursery: Children in the nursery will learn who Jesus is, that he is alive, and how to trust God. Taught by Heidi Wethered and friends.

Younger Elementary (Grades K–3): The theme of the Winter quarter is Knowing Jesus. Children will learn about the Coming of the Promised Savior, Growing in Trusting Jesus, and Believing in the Power of Jesus. Taught by Daniel Root and Marcus Huggins.

Older Elementary (Grades 4–8): Acts to Romans: preteens and young teens will study the growth of the early church and the doctrines of our faith. Taught by TBD.

Youth Group (Grades 9-12): How does your faith fit into everything you are doing each day? This series will discuss the reason for your hope as a Christian. Delving into the core truths of the Christian faith will equip you to more fully experience the joy God has for you in Jesus Christ and encourage you to have confidence to share your faith with others. Taught by Josh Kiihne.

Friendship Class (Special Needs Education)

Choose Courage: Following God is not for the faint of heart! In this study, we will discover what it meant for Joshua and Caleb to follow God’s command to “be strong and courageous.” We will also explore what it might mean for us to choose courage as we choose to follow God’s lead. Taught by Peggy Van Lowe and one adult/teen mentor for each student.

 Adult Education

God’s Design for Sexuality in a Changing Culture: This video series is geared toward helping churches think and talk through the orthodox, historical, and scriptural views on sex, sexuality, and gender in light of the impact of our secular culture’s viewpoints. Increasingly, Christian beliefs on sex, sexuality, and gender are being reshaped—and in some places turned upside-down—and Christians are more confused about how to live with God’s gift of sexuality than ever before. Taught by the Elders
