Movie Night – Friday, December 7th

Our Creator God has made us to create, for his glory and our neighbor’s good. Let’s get together and see what others have created.

Our next movie night is December 7th, 7 pm at the Roller’s Theater.

We’ll be watching “Orphans of the Firestorm” a Japanese animated PG film chosen by none other that our friends Yosuke and Shoko Irie.

Roger Ebert writes that this film is “an emotional experience so powerful that it forces a rethinking of animation…it belongs on any list of the greatest war films ever made.” TV Guide’s Movie Guide rated it

Here is a short summary: “As the Empire of the Sun crumbles upon itself and a rain of firebombs falls upon Japan, the final death march of a nation is echoed in millions of smaller tragedies. This is the story of Seita and his younger sister Setsuko, two children…forced to fend for themselves in the after math of fires that swept entire cities from the face of the earth, their doomed struggle is both a tribute to the human spirit and the stuff of nightmares.”
