On Sunday, January 20th we will celebrate Sanctity of Human Life Sunday. A guest speaker from Care Net Pregnancy Resource Centers will come and speak during the Worship service.
Dear Crossroads,
I’m excited to announce the dates for the 2013 short-term mission trip to Cherokee, NC. Crossroads plans to send a team to Cherokee for the following week:
July 27 – August 3
The cost of the trip, like last year, will be around $500 per person, but some family discounts will apply. Married couples and children attending with at least one parent qualify for a discounted rate.
Shortly after the New Year, we will schedule our first team meeting and begin discussing potential fundraising opportunities.
If you would like to be a part of this year’s team, please let me know before January 1. If you have already communicated with me about your interest, you need only contact me if you now know you will be unable to participate. For more general information about the Cherokee Mission, see http://www.mtw.org/Pages/2WK_USNCCherokee.aspx.
I hope to hear from you!
Tim

Let’s imagine this post’s text wrapped around an image with a caption.
Let’s try a blockquote.

We will again be joining The Streetlight Ministry on January 26 for an evening of service to the homeless community. Please arrive just before 7:00p.m. and bring a meat or vegetable dish to serve 15-20. You may bring any dish you like for drop off in the kitchen when you arrive. Please be prepared for the possible roles: (a) greet people at the door and supervise clothing giveaway; (b) participate in the worship service until 7:40p.m., when the doors open to serve meals: (c) serve food to people in the food line (only 8-10 people can do this); (d) mingle, sit, and talk with those sitting to eat, and/or assist mothers with their younger children; or (e) help with clean up afterward, starting about 8:20p.m. or so. Please understand the ministry is fluid, and volunteers are encouraged to be both flexible in their roles and outgoing in their witness for Christ–the most pressing need during the ministry is to talk with those being served. Volunteers who cannot make it at 7:00p.m. are encouraged to come around 8:20p.m. to help clean up–the more the merrier.
The Streetlight is located at 1550 Prince William Parkway, Woodbridge; it’s on the north side of the road (left), after crossing over I-95 heading east, just before the intersection with Jeff-Davis highway (Rt 1). The parking lot is dark and poorly lit, so it’s easy to miss. Please call Hans or Carolyn Ritschard with questions at 703-670-8971
