Youth Ministry Mission: The Crossroads Youth Ministry equips the youth of Crossroads to love and glorify God as members of the church body and as ambassadors for Christ, impacting their families, community, and world.
Youth Ministry Vision: Each young person plays a role in God’s larger story of redemption and demonstrates an excitement for living out God’s agenda in their lives. The ministry partners with parents in connecting each youth with the living God and his Word, encouraging them to grow in the knowledge and grace of Christ.
Crossroads Youth has four areas of focus:
Discipleship – Discipleship means following the code Christ updated when he said “I am The Way”. In Sunday School and other events we pursue spiritual renewal and resilience. We seek to apply this consistently in all areas of life. Live fearless! ”Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.” Philippians 4:8
Convergence / Connection – Crossroads Youth & friends can gather for fun and friendship with a variety of local events such as ultimate Frisbee, laser tag, the Belvedere Farms bonfire, or our annual ski trip. These events provide opportunities to bring friends who don’t have a personal relationship with Christ to hear the Gospel and fellowship with Christian youth. “This is the wonderful message he has given us to tell others. We are Christ’s Ambassadors, and God is using us to speak to you. We urge you, as though Christ himself were here pleading with you, Be reconciled to God!” 2 Corinthians 5:19-20
Your Serve events provide an opportunity to serve others – Examples of past Your Serve events are: 30 Hour Famine, Special Olympics, visits elder care facilities, serving individual families, or mission trips under MNA or MTW. “Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.” 1 Peter 4:10”
Integration events provide an opportunity for the youth to participate in or lead a church-wide event – Examples of integration events are: Music Ministry, Pie and Praise, Nursery, Mission Trip, and Bible Study. “Don’t let anyone think less of you because you are young. Be an example to all believers in what you teach, in the way you live, in your love, your faith, and your purity.” I Timothy 4:12
