Youth Group Ski Retreat March 2 – 4

Crossroads Youth Group  (grades 7-12) will have our annual ski retreat at Timberline Ski Resort, Davis,WV(  http://timberlineresort.com/  ) from Friday afternoon, March 2 through Sunday March 4, 2012. We will be lodging at Canaan Valley Baptist Church, Davis, WV. We plan to leave late afternoon on Friday, ski Saturday March 3rd and Sunday March 4th, and return Sunday evening. On Saturday evening, we will have a Bible study, and on Sunday, we will join Canaan Valley Baptist Church for a short worship service on top of the mountain. Please submit your completed registration form (see attachment), completed Timberline Rental Agreement (available soon) and money to Dave Williams, no later than Sunday February 26 (this is a firm deadline!). We will have a table set up during fellowship time on Sunday morning where you can  pick up the information and registration forms and sign-up for this exciting event. Youth Group Ski Retreat March 4-6 – Fun in WV

The Crossroads Youth Group enjoyed a fun weekend at Timberline Ski Resort in Canaan Valley, WV. Saturday we spent the whole day skiing and the rain held off for the entire day, so everyone had fun. For some it was their first time on skis, and they got to enjoy a lesson to get them started. No injuries!! Everyone skiied safely and somewhat in control! The evening was spent enjoying a meal lovingly made by Marcy Naylor, who spent the day doing preparation for dinner and the next morning’s breakfast. We played a few games and sang some songs led by Emily Neice on the guitar.

Sunday was a different story with heavy rainfall and snow starting around noon. Instead of skiing we joined Cannan Valley Baptist Church for their Worship Service. Kevin McMullen came up with a neat idea of “Donut Olympics”  for everyone to play. Games were pretty hilarious, ranging from a wheel barrow race to the pile of donuts, and donut archery. I’m sure if you ask any of the youth they can explain in more detail!!!

A very long trip home in the snow, over 6 hours. Everyone arrived safe, if not a little tired. Thanks to all of those who spent a lot of work arranging/leading this trip, especially Dave and Andrea Williams.

Crossroads Youth Sports/Games Night – Saturday, November 6th

On Saturday November 6th from 6pm until 9pm, the Crossroads Youth Ministry (grades 9 – 12) is having another fantastic sports night at the Dumfries Boys and Girls Club gymnasium (17565 Old Stage Coach Rd., Dumfries, VA 22026). Under the awesome leadership of Kevin McMullen and Scott Naylor, we will have a variety of active games that everyone will want to join. We will also have a short devotional and of course, food! Please bring your friends and a snack to share. Drinks will be provided.

Youth Group Fall Kick-Off Event – Saturday, September 11

Youth Group (grades 7–12) “Get a Clue” event. 3:00p.m – 8:30pm. Sharpen your mind for the upcoming FALL school semester – careful, these clues might just hurt your brain! We will meet at the Naylor’s (2784 Sugar Pine Ct., Woodbridge, VA 22192) and carpool to Potomac Mills Mall. This is a wonderful opportunity to invite your friends and have them join us for an awesome scavanger hunt AND they will get to hear about Christ and His love for us. A Bible lesson and pizza back at the Naylor’s will follow the game. Please bring a snack to share if your last name starts (A-M) or a dessert if your last name starts (N-Z). Youth Sports Night

Please join the Crossroads Presbyterian Church Youth (Grades 7-12) Ministry for a sports night in the gymnasium at the Dumfries Boys & Girls Club (17565 Old Stage Coach Road, Dumfries, Virginia 22026) from 7pm. until 10pm, on FRIDAY, February 12, 2010.  The sports night will consist of food, fellowship, organized sports/games and some free time to play sports/games, or you may bring a favorite board or card game.  This is a free convergence event so invite your friends.  Please bring a snack to share with others.
